What a year behind us! Looking forward to 2025! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you!
Join us tomorrow for the charity concert “Children for children” organized by the choir “Weisse Nächte”.
Another In-house Salon took place last Saturday. As always, it was a great joy to see and hear everyone. Particularly remarkable was how attentively everyone listened to the performers. Two hours without a break passed in what felt like a single breath—amazing! Looking forward to next week, which brings two more events: our joint visit to the Tonhalle on Monday and participation in a charity concert on Thursday.
"SPEAK MUSIC" – Our new theory class took place for the first time last Saturday, dedicated to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Participants listened to several of Bach’s pieces, learned to follow the music in the scores, and analyzed the structure of his compositions. Leading the class was our wonderful teacher and incredible pianist, Ekaterina Bonyushkina.
To close the lesson, we listened to a movement from Brahms’ Second Symphony. Why Brahms, when the lesson was dedicated to Bach? More on that will be revealed in our next lesson in December! In the meantime, we’ll work on applying what we’ve learned to the pieces our students are practicing individually.
And coming up soon, we’re excited for our next event: this Saturday is our In-house Salon – a Jam Session, Musica Viva style. We can’t wait!
This month, Musica Viva is thrilled to present a variety of inspiring musical events for our students, and we warmly invite our community to join us for our final event of the month!
- November 9th – We’re excited to introduce Speak Music, a new unique theory course for our students! This course covers analysis, music history, and solfeggio, enriching our students’ understanding of the language of music.
- November 16th – Our first In-house Salon of the semester! This “jam session” is a fun, informal gathering for Musica Viva students and teachers to perform and make music together.
- November 25th – Visit a Concert with Natasha - another new project of Musica Viva that launches with a joint visit to the Tonhalle, giving our students an inspiring live concert experience and possibility to share it with each other.
- November 28th – We welcome everyone to the “Mit Kindern für Kinder” charity concert at Zurich’s Predigerkirche, where some of our students will perform alongside other young musicians and a choir “Weisse Nächte”. Join us for an evening of meaningful music in support of a great cause!
Looking forward to a wonderful month of music-making, learning, and community. We hope to see many of you on the 28th!
We live music. Join us.
