SPEAK MUSIC March
SPEAK MUSIC – Another great session of our all-in-one special theory course, Speak Music, took place last Saturday!
This semester is dedicated to Mozart and Beethoven, where our students are learning how to distinguish between these two musical giants. We began by listening to the overtures “Egmont” and “The Magic Flute.” While listening, the students followed along by reading the complete orchestral scores—a challenging but at the same time fantastic way to dive into the details of the music!
Next, we discussed and then watched Act 1 of The Marriage of Figaro, which brought plenty of fun and excitement. What a great feeling, when after two hours of listening, discussing operas, orchestras, and instruments, a 15-year-old student leaves the class saying, “Wow, thank you! That was so interesting!”. Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. 
We’re looking forward to the next class in April!
